Context

Smart controllers are often used in modern applications such as automotive engines, washing machines, ovens and other applications, promoting a higher efficiency of these applications.
 

In automotive industry, for example, cars used to spent huge amounts of fuel and release high quantity of pollutants and now, with Engine Control Unit - ECU - all necessary variables may be acquired in order to have a precious control over fuel and air moisture according to each variable acquired. Washing machines have relied in electromechanical controlling systems, but now with micro-controllers, washing machines, a precise control over water and heat may be achieved , allowing a higher efficiency. The same principle may be assumed to ovens, where a precise control
over heaters and fans may provide a better food preparation.


As heat pumps has a series of actuators and sensors, it means that higher efficiency may be achieved using smart controlling on these processes. Besides the presented facts, this dissertation becomes even more attractive because it allows the opportunity for development and innovation in a leading World Company, Bosch.
